Yeah, the issue is that the running #start9 system is stored on a read-only image and the services are container images (again read-only) with the configs projected into them. So the writeable content of the server is designed to be just configs and data.

Meaning if you install executable deb packages via apt, if they install at all they will disappear upon restart.

Start9 has an application porting guide somewhere to explain how to properly package software. I will rummage around for it and report back.

Thank you. I see that a start9 VPN is targeted for a future upgrade. I am awaiting the blockchain to sync before I look more a the start9 Nostr Relay. I will tend not to expose my IP address for a Relay.
