Note that these days official advice is that you should _not_ try to supress fevers with medication unless the fever is so severe that you need hospital treatment. In which case, let the pros figure it out.
Fevers are actually beneficial in most cases, and reduce the length of illness because the high temperatures directly fight infection.
The standard advice of "drink lots of fluids" with a fever appears to be incorrect in most cases too. You should drink to alleviate thirst. But if you aren't thirsty, you don't need to drink more.
