I spent a week last spring digging holes to plant a line of windbreak trees. After that I've decided the best workout is just that.
Dig a hole and fill a wheelbarrow with the dirt using a shovel, walk a lap around your house with the loaded wheelbarrow. Dump it back in the hole. Repeat for an hour.
This has been my dad's exercise routine since he retired 20 years ago.
He is 78 but looks 20 years younger.
