I wonder if it’s the caching feature. All Nostr clients should have a low bandwidth setting. Not everyone has an unlimited data plan.
Discussion
Caching is supposed to eliminate the redundant data fetching issue that many nostr clients have. This looks odd, may be a bug.
Primal's caching happens entirely server side, then the client only has to read from the caching server. If anything, this practice should reduce the amount of data used, since the client isn't requesting notes from multiple relays and likely receiving a lot of duplicates.
Could be the 100mb blogs ever one & their dog is uploading.
Sorry not sorry nostr:npub1cudap5kkjdvnv78v08m3748afshj0u3zh9h34svrf4nhn07gn4lscflujc
Hey, I have never dog-vlogged, not even once!
Sounds like an opportunity to me. Just use Nostr build shack to shrink yer videos
Could be. Not sure how Primal handles that. I imagine it's really bad if auto-play is turned on, but not sure how much is downloaded when it is turned off, or if it waits to fetch the media until the user hits play in that case.
