already here... haven't had much time to get to all the walks yet. went up the hill part way to camacha and had epetada... was kinda sad we were teh only ppl in the place but beef roasted on the spit with char and juice and all, omg.
i also don't have a car or money to just zap myself to other parts of the island but i'm determined to check out the two main levadas near me, to the northeast of machico and east of canisal out on the tail past the windmills.
mainly just enjoying the warm weather in a nice apartment all wood floors and wood furniture and bidet in the bathroom (one per bedroom) and the nice stone top benches on the kitchen, at the price of a rotting garret in western european real estate markets.
the best thing about madeira is the walking though. sometimes you gotta watch out for crazy drivers and the paths are so steep you slip over, especially if it's rained a little in the cold season, but the walking. so much walking. it is heaven for hikers.
