Let’s take a look at the homestead solar production this past week. Not as much production as last week due to the overcast conditions we’ve had. We did make about $17.80 in additional unused power that will be credited to our power company account. Some pretty cool metrics.

Are you grid tied with battery backup? Or just grid tie?
Grid tied only right now. My next phase is to expand to a sunlight backup kit from enphase. We don’t really need 24/7 power. That kit will allow us to draw power from the panels during the day even if utility is down. It basically adds an automatic transfer switch. Without it, you are required to cut solar production in an event of utility outage. This is to keep from back feeding the grid and shocking the lineman.
