It's everywhere. Best you can do is minimize exposure.
The best you can do is grow/raise your own food. Second to that is buying only raw ingredients, veggies, and meat instead of packaged products. Third is using packaged products with only whole food ingredients (no preservatives, spices, etc). They're not common, but they do exist.
In my country it is usual to cook from scratch.
