Pretty huge caveat is force closures in a high chain fee environment- I had a remote opened channel locally force closed due to the other node having connection issues and it cost me over 400k sats with the CPFP and the sweeps. So it’s definitely not as simple as saying the opener of the channel bears the closure fees. Every channel opened to or from your node incurs a risk.

Discussion

I know everything about force closes unfortunately. My node had more of them than nostr public keys in currently in circulation. Unfortunately there is a interesting discussion of force closures only on Twitter with the greatest nodes operators including WoS and Boltz with I hate to post on Nostr, so I don't. TLDR they all recomment not to use clightning (CLND) which causes the most of force closures and they are all operating on just LND for that reason. Again, i hate they do not share this on Nostr. But I have a link (Twitter) which is all about this subject.
