Love Phoenix, but

I paid $3.50 in fees to send from Phoenix to on-chain

That tx would have cost $1.20 if I could set my own fees

That’s about 8,700 sats. Feel free to zap.

Nah but jokes aside, I’m gonna go buy back those sats just to feel better 😂

Try this. I’ve done it, it’s cheaper and it works.

The learning curve 🧮 I need to figure this out 🤔

You need do this with at least 100k sats

That can be arranged lol

Phoenix was quoting me a fee of 42% to do a submarine swap.

This entire swap operation cost me 8% in fees.

I don’t know what a submarine swap means, but 8% is much better

A submarine swap is the mechanism to do onchain to Lightning swaps and viceversa

Ok, thanks! I appreciate it. This is a fun journey to figure it all out 😊

For sure!

Cool, I saw this and thought “sounds complicated” lol

What’s the easiest way to try out liquid?

It’s quite easy, tbh.

It’s two steps.

You pay a ln invoice you generate with Boltz.

You convert liquid bitcoin to onchain bitcoin (sent to your onchain address).

That’s it.

Minimum amount 100k sats to do this entire operation

Thank you!! I will try it 🤙

Is it because of the mempool? I like Phoenix too, but I’m still trying to figure out the best route to my pocket. What’s a better way?

Don't move so many sats around.. lmao

Phoenix just charges a high fee to go from LN to on-chain, like 1%

Muun used to have better fees but with high miner fees it’s been meh lately

Are you trying to go Lightning to cold storage on chain?

You could use swap services like Boltz.

In addition to what #[2] said.

👍

For some reason, I thought you were talking about the city of Phoenix. I was so confused. I’m up to speed now lol.

😂😂
