Probably still requires an adapter for the 2nd drive? I have an old board and I’m not sure if it has more than 1 m2 slot. Would prefer not to buy any adapters to plug the 2nd drive

You can use an external HDD for the image target if you have one lying around.

Hmm, I might!

Would be good to know if the new drive is larger to save you some time, because a fresh install may indeed be less complicated. I'm not sure Clonezilla or Rescuezilla have a simple way of expanding a cloned drive onto a larger disk. It likely will just leave the extra space as unusable by the OS. Sorry, should have asked to begin with.

Nvm just realized my board has 2 m2 slots.

Good. It saves one step and about a third of the time. You'd want to be using it on the same machine though. I dont know how Macs work, but cloning one drive and using it on a different machine will usually cause problems, if it works at all. If you plan to use the drive on a new machine then you probably should do a fresh install. New drive on the same machine is good unless you're using a larger drive. That does get more complicated.

I’m not even gonna clone now. I’ll just move file save locations to larger drive and be done πŸ˜‚
