Back when the internet wasn't in your pocket, always there, waiting, watching, listening, tracking, shaping and shilling. It was a bridge to a destination, not an appendage.
This must have been back when we wrote down Mapquest directions and crossed our fingers weβd get there
If someone called the house phone, the internet went down. Good times
wait what?
Tanel, how old are you? Are you telling me you've never lived in a world with a dial up connection to the internet? With only one phone line? π
uhhh, maybe? i donβt know
Hahaha! Back in the late nineties, most people didn't have dedicated phone lines for their internet connection, so if someone dialed out on a land line phone or accepted an incoming call, you'd get kicked off the internet.
Back then, the internet wasn't really seen as a necessity, so it just piggybacked on the main phone line for most residences. It was a novelty, much like bitcoin in the early years. Not taken seriously by very many.
Oh I forgot about that!

uhhh CD player?
Did your parents tell you horror stories about the days before anti-shock walkmans? πππ
anti-shock?
πππ
The disk would skip and cut out the sound of a song if you walked or ran too fast with a portable CD player. The song would studder. So they made special reinforced casing for them.
hahahaha what πππ
pls tell me this is real
Dead serious
Ohhhhh fancy
Oh wait I dunno if I know about dis π
