Big fan of proton
Thanks guys ! So another question within a question π
I have some subscription services and emails linked to particular websites etc...
How do I go about changing these over to let's say a newly created proton email ?
Tips tricks ?
Tag me in the reply, Iβve considered making the switch as well but it sounds like a massive headache.
Yo π€ yeah man sounds like a pain in the ass !!
What you can't switch you keep it with google but all new subs and all comms go through privacy oriented proton
So stressful... Now I have an additional email address π π©
A few years ago I did this.
The best way is by first setting yourself up with a password manager like 1password or bitwarden first on all the sites you log into. That way, you have a list of sites you then need to change your email on. But in the end, the tip and trick is "one by one."
Then set up email forwarding from the old email to catch any stragglers. After a few years, the old email is obselete and even all the spammers know your new email.
So the spammers know my new email .... Isn't that bad π§
Well yeah the more you put your email out there the more email lists you end up on. I've given up on trying to unsubscribe from everything. There's always more that shows up.
Actual unsolicited spam gets caught pretty well by proton so I never see it.
AOL
Iβd recommend Proton Mail. Very secure. All encrypted at rest. All encrypted between proton users. Can send encrypted emails to external users with password protection.
Can get email only, or bundle with VPN, Calendar, Drive, and Proton Pass, which is a great password manager.
If you want to try it, this code gives you something or other π€£. (I think itβs longer trial.) https://pr.tn/ref/234S85KT6JMG
Oh, and for proton, you donβt need any identifying data to sign up. Just an email address to get a verification, but you can use your Gmail, and then remove it from the account.
