I will give you the advice that has helped me.

Start with Matthew (new testimate first book of the gospels). I'm reading from the english standard version. Many people start with the king james version.

There's a podcast series called The Bible in a Year with Fr Mike Schmitz that I have been using to listen to the old testimate. He's catholic so his take is reflective of that, but I found his approach refreshing.

The old testimate is important, but it's cumbersome. Best to listen to it in chunks.
