Looking for easy Lightning wallets to recommend to plebs. Saw a good review yesterday by @Jonny Ji Some criteria- Non custodial - ability to transfer from Bitcoin main chain to Lightning network - doenst require running a node - dont need to rebalance channels - provides lnurl @ for lud-06. Id like to get as many of these functions as possible. Feel free to add functions I might have missed. Id love to hear about your good and bad experiences with wallets so I can suggest the right one for the new people I help bring to Nostr.

Been using Blue to suggest to nocoiners....ticks alot of boxes and the "backup" is just a simple copy paste.

It's tricky cause we are probably well versed in multiple wallets and use them slightly differently for different needs. When setting up a noob, I try to keep it simple and hope to hell they get involved in the space and learn. My situation is not onboarding them to nostr though just randoms who I know and chat to irl. Often in a noisy cafe or somewhere like that so, yea it's hard to know the best for that.
Wallet of Satoshi is still by far the simplest onboarding experience for most people. Just stress the importance of backing them up, which requires an email address. I’ve known a bunch of people who forgot to do that and ended up losing their sats because they deleted the app thinking their phone had automatically backed it up, which it doesn’t do.
Wonder if #Nodestrich could get to making the wallets even more nostr native to integrate with clients and build out the node network underneath?
I’d love to work on the design, alongside a solid dev team. Know anyone? Let’s do this.

Maybe do it on Keet to support the decentralised ecosystem whilst there is no real nostr group chat?
Never used Keet, we’d probably have an easier time getting people in by starting a Telegram group.

Keet mobile dropped today, Jack posted his room. Guy Swann has been pushing it hard, I think it looks interesting but haven’t looked at it in detail yet (I’m assuming it has group chat- it’s known for group video calls).
It will probably integrate with nostr for Spaces alternative though so might be worth giving it a try?

BlueWallet is my go-to because it works well with other LND wallets. I can have multiple Lightning wallets in one app, one that uses BlueWallet’s node, one for my node, and I can import Alby and ln.tips so I can have LNURL addresses. When I want to move sats out of my custodial wallets, I can send them to my node within the same interface.
Doubt you’re going to find anything that meets most of those requirements until after BOLT-12 is in widespread use.
