sigh i can never seem to have a hobby distinct from coding. the first thing I want to do with this electric guitar is build a realtime app that displays notes via the graphics card when I play them. could be the start of a rocksmith like ui which currently doesn't exist outside of that game apparently.

that’s a good thing 💜

I knew there's a reason I can't learn to code myself...

This would be me ever week.

"Oh, I could build something for that!"

*nothing ever gets finished

🤣

There are certain tuner apps that will do that, there are some Foss ones as well on Android, some websites as well, they can do it with a microphone as well

yeah I wanted to see what kind of code it would take to build an MVP of that

Innovation often happens when people that are great at one thing start mixing it with another new hobby 😁

this is how all my coolest projects start. like lnvis (combining graphics programming with lightning)

I know this all too well

Not unlike the way the best money always wins, sometimes the most interesting and high-leverage creative use of time wins, too

You wield the power of emergent behaviors 🪄

Maybe abc notation is interesting to you. Old as damn. Was used to stuff sheets of music on a floppy disk in concise form, so that sharing them with people would be easy. Didn't want to carry heavy bags of paper you know. Same problem with money, right?

Bruh that's called a tuner

It’s been years since I’ve composed but I’m pretty certain Finale does this. Only one I’ve ever known of anyway. I used to sit at a computer in college and play the piano and have it auto compose the sheet music. It wasn’t always the best. I know the lab instructor had his guitar plugged into it all. This was over 10 years ago. The tech has either improved, or it hasn’t and it’s just waiting for the proper revamp.

You are become computer, destroyer of worlds.

cant fight how your brain works 😅
