My gut tells me the web clients are less data hungry, because they do all the work at their end and just display the result, while damus&co do it all on your device, but I might be completely wrong.

I don’t use Damus. Only iris and amethyst. I tried iris the app and web. It’s the same.
It happens when I refresh the home page(especially global).
