I'm not using liquid to hold long term, nor would I recommend it. As a short term solution for stacking a sizeable utxo to send on chain, I have been finding it useful though.

Phoenix fees are ridiculous, I had to quit using it after the splicing update. For lightning I have Mutiny & Zeus self custodial, and they both work well, up to my channel size. Liquid doesn't have that size limitation.

Never tried out phoenix until a couple months ago and immediately realized it makes no sense for me to use in any capacity. Must’ve been post-splicing update, hopefully

Mutiny seems to be the lowest fees, last time I checked anyways. Zeus is slow for me too, try toggling the express graph sync, that can help 👍
