Uhh... So just found out I'm the oldest person at my company.

Only 5 of us, but still.

This doesn't feel good at all.

If this ever happens to me I’m out. Everybody is way old in my line of work 😂🤣

Wen retiring?

As soon as I save up enough to afford some nice cabinets

It's okay, friends, you may be old, but your enthusiasm must remain young

Why? That probably means the company has a young energy and can adapt quickly. No?

I had the same experience this year.

We have over 60 employees across 4 continents, I’m the oldest. I barely turned 40.

C-level management is 🤬

Man if we keep this up the next nostr event gonna have to stock depends adult diapers for us 😭

I'm almost always the oldest in the kitchen too. It's OK because I'm the one with the most experience and the kids will take out the heavy garbage bags for me - not realizing I'm twice as strong as them!🤣

I'm likely the oldest person in this thread, as I started this journey in 1977. I went through Military service, then Academics (physics/mathematics), then bailed to work in the tech industry in the mid 90s and haven't looked back.

And I still do.

OG Internet guys like me (and presumably you) have nothing to fear, as long as we keep our bits flowing. Trust me. If you keep active, the mind stays sharp. I've been everything from Chief SysAdmin to Principle Engineer. It's yours to take it, keep it, and stay in it.

Youth is great, except they ALWAYS FORGET GODEL AND TURING. Damn. I have had to have the same conversation a bajillion times....
