I just read that deep fried chicken can absorb ~10-20% of its weight in oil.

This doesn't take into account the breading I don't think.

A tablespoon of canola oil weighs around 14g.

So in one pound of fried chicken you'd assume there's 90g of oil.

That's almost 800 calories just in oil if you eat a pound.
