Over a long enough timeframe I agree for sure, although the cyclical nature of this system can take centuries to ebb and flow.
We must remain vigilant and keep an eye on what they are trying to do to us. I don't see any precedent for another point in time where surveillance capabilities and so called technological advancements have been setup in such a way to assume a lot of control over society without having to physically manipulate every person.
