The best part about #Lightning is that it proved that L2 payments is possible.

The worst part about #Lightning is that we'll probably have to replace it down the line.

agreed!

hot wallets are hot wallets!

Let’s just call them sexy wallets.

Grrrrr.. those bits turn me on.

I see no way around the fact that you have to insulate Normies from on chain fees. I see Lightning as a superb rail for B2B but something has to come along that lets Normies sign up for little to no cost or risk or wait time

I dont understand the misconception ofnwwit time.

The transactions are instant.

The settlements (confirmations) are whatvrewuite wait time (blocks).

Bitcoin on chain settles in 10 minutes to a few hours or a few days worst case scenario.

Fiat payments take 6 months to 2 years to settle.

You’re missing the point. Go try and onboard a Normie delivery guy that you tipped to a non custodial wallet in the middle of the ordinals people having a jpeg orgie. Let me know how high the fees are for the first confirmation and how long it takes.

That is not nearly good enough to onboard the entire world. Lightning is gonna end up being a B2B solution. Normies need something that insulates them from all these complexities. Period.

The worst part is all the talented devs are far too obsessed with trying to make it work.

With what?
