Sometimes I randomly think of the lyrics to this song and die laughing.

The fact that all elementary school kids are taught to memorize this and do the pledge of allegiance is truly insane looking back.

Pure, unadulterated propaganda. All nation states are a scam.

You can love your country while hating your government

What is a country without a government?

No government, no country. Just be a region with its on culture and customs.

🎯

Culture is a made up construct.

Culture is something that materializes organically.

Correct - it's catch-all for the things we do as humans to survive, connect and flourish in groups. It's not at all weird to enjoy the things like that you grew up with, the shared stories, the art, the music, the food, the rituals... That can plausibly be separated from government. But then you get to the next issue: Do the referents of "the culture" map all and only to the same geographical area as referents to "the government" (or at least its purview)?

Idk about that. I think they can be the norms and practices of a particular area. These could be based on the climate which pushes people toward a particular dietary preference. In a tropical area, the natural remedies and herbs would be unique to that region compared to a desert area in the Middle East.

That’s not culture.

Then what is it?

Is tomato sauce part of Italians culture?

Idk maybe. Are tomatoes prevalent in that region? Is it a major staple of their diet?

They were not. From South America.

So what is culture?

I already told you.

Then what do you call the shared beliefs, values, and practices of a group of people?

Sheep?

Cult?

I don’t think it’s a cult lol agree to disagree 🤝

I was thinking about the pledge of allegiance the other day. Kids are pledging allegiance to a piece of fabric. To symbols.

The symbols contain a lot of information though. All of the propaganda is cued by the symbol for ease of access and control. It’s propaganda compression.

Much easier to digest

Even as a child it seemed very dirty to me. I would never say it in class. Just stood up and sat down. Just like church. Never once did I say the Lord’s Prayer. Clown shit.

That’s how I feel now when I go to events that do a pledge of allegiance. People get upset if you don’t stand up. Very typical sheep behavior.

That’s terrorist behavior 😂

I quit doing the pledge of allegiance in 9th grade. I realized for whatever reason that it was insane and bizarre.

We’re tax slaves in America. 🇺🇸
