Depends on where you are. When I was a kid in rural GA they grew like weeds so I never paid for them. When I moved to the city 10 years ago they were like $3-6 a pint. In Central America, they’re effin expensive like $8-10 a pint.

Here they are cheap in Tanzania mainly in local market but in supermarket are very expensive ,likewise to village they are just freee u can eat anytime u wish just the matter of take from the tree

You don’t understand how badly I want to go to the Tanzanian market and villages. I was planning on moving to Zanzibar but my family couldn’t stomach the travel distance. It’s definitely on my list of places to visit.

Plant your own! Them and raspberries spread like weeds. I have to remove a ton each year. Almost every dropped berry is a new vine!

Will it take all the staking and fence building or can I just plant them and let them run wild? I’d love to add them in along with some blueberries in my garden.

The best to it do both. Plant a couple right by your house for easy access and steak them. And then somewhere on your property let them run wild.

Depending on the variety, the stocks can be very prickly. Our patch is so big that we rarely go in the middle. We get enough from the perimeter.

But for the one by your house, you only need 2 steaks and a wire or string a cross. Then only tie up the ones that are really long and the fruit is directly on the ground

Awesome. Thanks so much for the idea. I hadn’t thought about putting them close to the house. That’s definitely something I can handle. Especially for something so yummy!

The best is to try and buy a stock from someone rural. You’ll get fruit a year sooner and you know the berries aren’t sterile

Good to know! Thanks.
