What's the best software for authors of fiction?

Are there packages that enable comments, cross references / linking, revision tracking, collaboration, etc?

I dunno. Just been using TextEdit.

This is the way.

Looks like you need a new nostr client.

Scrivener. Not officially Linux but there's workarounds

That looks great

I came here to say the same thing. It really, if you learn how to use Word or Pages well, do you really need it?

Don't do it! 😭

You need specific hardware for fiction.. Ideally some cellulose fibers derived from wood pulp and an separate instrument composed of a solid graphite core encased in a wooden exterior. There are some alternatives but we can discuss those another time.

😂

perhaps note taking software like Obsidian?

We use Notion for our books. I'd rather we were using Obsidian, but it never passed the wife test. Never could get into Scrivener though. Hated it like I hate Word.

Interesting 👀

With Obsidian, how would you get commenting? Are there plugins?

Microsoft Word does all those things. I wouldn't want to use it, though.
