## Liberty is not freedom

**Free people have rights**

Rights precede the State; they persistent despite it.

Liberty is an allowance or permission from the State. Thus you can have the Right to act, but not the liberty.

This is a very nuanced conversation. Liberty is not freedom. A is not B. But what's the difference? That's a damn good question. Nostr is freedom, Elon's twitter is Liberty.

Thank you for sharing this, on the freedom protocol. I can only imagine the degenerates that would take issue with this on Twatter.
