Nope that would be too proactive on my part when I could just skip it, call it piss water and drink something else instead of trying to make the bad taste enjoyable on my end and learn a new skill
The the best part of learning to brew is that you learn to appreciate all styles. There's no bad style, just bad beers.
I can appreciate that sentiment. I've had the desire to learn in the past but never put the time in. I have too many interests, hobbies and work to be proficient in any of them except work lol
I totally relate. I decided to learn back during lockdowns. Lots of free time make for good new skills haha
I still have most of my all grain brewing equipment.
I used to make Scottish ale. Perfectly balanced between sweet and bitter. That makes them dangerous and we used to get all manner of bombed out of our tree on it.
Named it the Big Poon.
My favorites are Porter/Stouts. First beer I ever brewed was a Porter and managed to nail the classic London style. I'm still pretty proud of that mk.1
I taught a friend how to brew. When he got his own rig the first beer he tried was a Belgian. I was worried he took that one on for his first solo brew.
He absolutely nailed it.
I was proud.
Good Belgians are always a treat. I try to always have some around just in case.

Way! I did 23andMe with 4 people. The test came back indicating 2 "can't taste bitter".
We did an empirical study on the 4 of us with "bitter strips." As it turned out, the strips tasted like absolutely nothing to them and it was the most bitter taste imaginable.
The 2 who couldn't taste bitter were lager drinkers and hated IPA's.
Hops has a novel taste. I like the smell of pine trees and it kind of tastes like that. I want to like hops, but it's so sharp and uncompromising that it totally dominates the flavor profile and feels like biting into a pinecone with every sip.
