We have to figure out what "consciousness" is exactly in the first place.
I don't think the prognosis is good that it's anything other than an illusion. What you think of as "you" is as much a product of fluids and chemicals pumping through your head, heart and gut as anything that could be described easily as 1's and 0's.
Have been doing a refresh on Ray Kurzweil and his theories and predictions. The speed at which advancements will be made as the singularity approaches is astounding! Trans humanism is coming fast (relatively speaking). Clarity on consciousness might be as well.
Scary that it could actually happen in our lifetimes.
Step 1: Repent of your sins and believe that Christ is Lord of body and soul ("consciousness").
Step 2: Depart for a time from your "meat suit" of a mortal body at your natural point of death.
Step 3: Receive from Christ a new, sinless, perfected, immortal, resurrection body into which your "consciousness will be exported" when Christ makes a new heavens and new earth.
I heard if you wear the special underwear you can be the god of your own planet.

I'm not a member of the clergy, so I have not baptized anyone. But I have been baptized and attended many a baptism. Those who once were dead in their sin and transgressions pass through the regenerative waters of baptism to new life on the other side. An occasion worthy of a fine suit.
