The only thing I care about it meeting new people, possibly friendships, and going new places or just generally having something to go do. That was the only interest I had in OPA or conferences really. I don't see it as a competition, if they do (and I'm taking your word for it) I just don't see how it's functionally hurting business if thats what's being insinuating.
If your "business model" is affected by something that is effectively completely free and gives the same value, you probably need to pivot. No time should be wasted on discussing why a "less good" (from perspective) product shouldn't be getting more attention than your "better product", focus on making yours more attractive. Doesn't mean you need to change the product necessarily, maybe just marketing.
