I have a bunch of ironweed too. Planted maybe 4 yearsago. Its getting taller and bigger every year. Wont flower until mid julyor late july...
The bees and myself love it. It does seem that we are about 3-4 weeks ahead of schedule this growing season. Blackberries are early, lots of flower blooms are early.
