For those who joined in the past month and may be unaware: Back in the beginning of January we had a lot of fun with an imaginary NFT, and thanks to #[6] now we even have our own badge to commemorate it. But no, we will not be bringing actual NFTs to Nostr.

Gather around, Nostriches. Let me tell you a tale of hilarity and wonder. Back in the day, we used to "sell" NFTs here on Nostr 🤣🤣
We would post images and pay each other for them, making fun of the whole NFT market. We did this with random imahes. Sometimes with rock JPEGs. It didn't really matter what. It was all in good fun using our newly found capabilities of posting a Lightning invoice and having Nostr client's render the invoice information and QR code, making it easily payable.
Then, image 2008 was uploaded to nostr.build. Coincidentally, the image was the Bitcoin whitepaper and numbered as the same year that Satoshi posted the real one.
Well, all hell broke loose to bid on fake ownership of this image. 👀👀👀
The best part? Just like the real NFT market, the price for pretend ownership of this image went to all time highs and then immediately crashed down to prices where the previous pretend owner had to sell at a loss. 🤣🤣
Did they get cancelled by the guard or was it ok because they're special?
This image is one of our best community memes. Yes, it's even larger than penis butter or gay hair.
