I really don’t like the term “influencer”.

To the extent that I can avoid it, I want to not be “influenced” by some random, famous person’s career ambitions and the philosophical bent they have adopted in order to achieve those ambitions. I think the term is fine, influencing is exactly what they do. But like you said, the culture of it is rotten af.
