10 years ago was the tail end of n-benzylated phenethylamines being passed off as LSD. again, it was a total substitution and not a cut. these drugs were typically more stimulating and had pretty bad safety profiles. they were abundant for a while due to their lower cost and legality. it seemed to have tapered off due to a global decline in wholesale LSD prices combined with increased awareness that n-benzylated phenethylamines were so dangerous.

Yeah, I believe it. It wasn’t passed off as LSD to me, but that was absolutely going on back then (I presume you’re talking about the 25i here). I knew it was experimental. We were just giving it a spin, but it truly ruined that day because of the bizarre sound hallucination would destroy your rhythm. Too much lag & cacophony on that stuff.
What ended up being dangerous about it?
it causes HPPD too easily, it has too much vasoconstriction, and it lowers your seizure threshold too much. the therapeutic index is very narrow like LSD but unlike LSD taking too much can put your body in physical danger. it's also a full agonist at 5-HT receptor sites and this will likely cause some brain damage. it's fistfucking the receptor. you will notice when you take it that it makes your tolerance to other psychedelics very high for a much longer time than normal.
I did! I knew it was more than just normal cross-tolerance. I’m glad I only did it the once then.
