With the anti-nuclear Greenies it’s a combination of childish/infantile fear of rAdiATiOn based on minimal scientific knowledge and, more importantly, their desire to drag the developed West back to a pre-industrial era. They don’t want a solution that would result in a continuation of a flourishing society.
