Nostr streams are awesome. Most seem like they depend on Cloudflare or a smiliar service to do this at the moment but how feasible is it to do in a full self-sovereign way? Meaning dropping third party streaming services and hosting everything yourself, even the video/audio streams.
you can run your own RTMP server or use Owncast like I do 😃

How well does that scale? Must be an expensive operation for a computer to push a video stream to e.g. 10k viewers?
Oh I can only stream to probably 20 people at a time since I'm using my home Internet connection. I'd need to buy a VPS somewhere or use Cloudflare to scale beyond that.
