This is your reminder that we still don’t have guaranteed national maternity leave in the USS, but we’re helping to fund proxy wars in the Ukraine and Israel.

*USA, not USS

Why would we have a uniform labor law of any kind in a free country?

I guess men and women see freedom differently.

Sure, but please actually explain how your position is related to freedom. Some sort of central authority forcing everyone to adopt the same labor compensation package doesn't sound super free to me.

Oh you’re right. Some people should be allowed to hold slaves if it works for them. That’s true freedom and decentralization.

What is a slave? One who is made to work for another under conditions not of his own choosing. And yet you want to impose exactly this on employers - you want to make them provide you with a benefit (paid maternity leave) by threat of force.

No, holding slaves is committing a moral injustice. It has nothing to do with freedom or decentralisation.

She is accusing me of supporting slavery because I don't support the use of force to coerce would-be employers to provide benefits she desires.

I know. My point was that's an illogical leap.

women really dont belong mixed up with the male work force in the first place... lets fix that first then we can talk about maternity leave.
