Some people don't understand Bluesky's decentralized aspect:

Bluesky is a open protocol, which you can build social media instances with.

@bsky.app is the main Bluesky instance. Anyone can start a new instance and join the Bluesky network, just like Mastodon and Minds' numerous instances.

So in this example where the user's account was banned, if he created his own instance, would he have access to his old identity and content? Would his instance be allowed to communicate with other instances and share users and content? What about if he allowed hatespeech on his instance?

1. No, each instance is independent, except for federated instances, which communicate between themselves.

2. Can do, through federation.

3. He can, but his users would be in trouble if his instance was federated.

Federation means to allow communication between different platforms, like Threads with Mastodon, for example.

Sounds like centralization with extra steps.
