Is it sustainable?

Server has to be rented/run that hosts the json for you, which is an on-going cost. So I would assume verification will also be switched to monthly cost.

Otherwise it is only sustainable if it is a pyramid scheme.

Please prove me wrong.

Assuming nostrplebs.com already has a server, which they do, they can host a JSON file on it for almost 0 marginal cost. If you had to price that single JSON file it'd probably be on the order of pennies per year, even if it has 10k or 100k identities listed.

Electricity costs money. So if they have the server, so not "borrowing" it, they still have to pay that. But the price can be much lower, I fully agree! 🤙🫂

correct. thank you. our largest cost centers are development time, management time, and support time. infrastructure is very little.

it's not a pyramid scheme. we do provide additional value to our customers based on our array of services. still, all of these are fairly cheap with very little overhead besides our management time, development time, and support time. in the near future, we'll offer additional paid services. a paid relay will help us with residual income. however, as said from the beginning, neither of us are looking to get rich on this endeavor. we just want to provide a service to the nostr community and have the service pay for itself and our time invested into it.

Plebchain got chu bro 🤙

I am sorry! 🥺 I meant that costs needs to be covered somehow, and if only new verifications are paid, than you will need new and new verifications to pay the cost of old verifications.

Of course this is not that easy. Everything depends on infrastructure, support, and development costs. If you will also do other paid services, that can also solve the problem.

Thanks #[5] for explanation, zapped a zapology! ⚡️
