I don't get some people with the comparison with Sega, two different approaches.

Sega was in the full reactiveness and Microsoft is at the mix of proactiveness within the reactiveness.

I see as Google does with Android, they make their own smartphones but allow, competitors use the mobile OS (in the perspective of Open Source of course).
