If you don’t remove trackers from the links you post, I will judge you. It only takes a few seconds to delete it. Do better.

Can you please tell me how to do remove tracking links? 🫂🙏

It depends but typically the tracker starts after a “?”

Some websites use “&” though. Look for both. Delete all of that. Then open the URL and see if it works.

I posted some pictures to show you. There’s a YouTube URL with the tracker highlighted. Words like utm source and utm campaign are trackers too. You can remove all of that including the “?”.

Some browsers also give you an option to remove the tracker for you. And I’m sure there are apps that do it too.

But you have to always be careful. Websites are getting creative and hiding their trackers. TikTok and Amazon do this. Copy the URL for those websites and you’ll see no tracker. But when you open it in your browser, the link reroutes to a different URL with a tracker. So you have to remove the tracker at that point and THEN copy the clean URL before sharing. It’s ridiculous there are extra steps lol

Hope that helps🫂

Thanks. I'll save these instructions 🙏🫂

No problem 🫂

But I like seeing the tracking disrespecter bot remove them for me.

Not gonna lie, I like seeing the track disrespector bot because I know for sure the link is clean and don’t have to double check 🤣

I have def posted unclean links and the tracking disrespected not cleaned it for me. Thankful for that.

You don’t want to rely on it because others may still open the tracker and then that random person could be linked to you in some way

Good point.

I learned that early on nostr. So now whenever I post a youtube link, I use the option "copy clean link" (in the right click or long press menu).

nostr:npub17a0glnlewhgdu6wuah5kwn7ewf649zu63ypq2pmyxh8y0z6uk6vqpttptf another option

Thank you

My clients clean the links, when writing or reading.

What’s your client called?

I have a Jumble spin-off.

It’s called jumble spin off?

No, Jumble Imwald https://jumble.imwald.eu/

I also have a wiki https://wikistr.inwald.eu/

Never heard of it

That's okay. My point is that the clients should be handling this.

My intention was to spread awareness so that people don’t share them outside of nostr too
