I don't know about inflation fans, but it's important to keep in mind that inflation is an intentional characteristic of the dollar. It's purposely an inflationary currency that reflects the intentional inflationary economy. So, it's not as if inflation is some unwanted phenomenon.
A deflationary economy needs to be built if you want a deflationary currency (like bitcoin) to be nation's base currency. That's the point that should be made. Criticizing the inflationary nature of the dollar is like criticizing a Ferrari for performing so poorly off-road. Just as the Ferrari wasn't designed to perform off-road, the dollar wasn't designed to behave as a deflationary currency.
Inflation is cool actually, it ensures steady, and constant dispersion of currency into the global economy, allowing for more people to engage in free, and open exchange.
Inflation also encourages spending which stimulates the economy so more can be employed.
