I tried implementing the Strike API, but I'm not a legit business, so they denied my API keys. I hope they implement NWC, but I have a feeling the big players are not going to be interested in interop.

The music industry is dying because artists need bitcoin. Help us help them.

We have put in the proof of work to get things moving but we need help on wallet compatibility. If even a single major player like strike or cashapp simply implements certain existing lightning rails we are running on, we could go a seriously long way in making music great again and help indie artists get paid what they deserve.

Bitcoin can also fix culture along the way but we need everyone's help.

You know what? I feel blessed to be a bitcoiner living in today's age. Why?

Because even a no-name indie record label and a handful of david-like hobbyists can take on the music industry Goliath and change things. And humble plebs fighting the good fight can simply reach out to powerful public figures with the means to change things for the better.

This is an incredible time to be living in where plebs suddenly have the power to build the world they want to live in.

Music is culture and culture is worth saving. I think this is a fight worth fighting.

NWC and keysend implementation are all we need from apps like Strike, CashApp, etc.

Alby does it right but I hate that they are the only ones doing it right.

Maybe someday Fountain will implement NWC 🤷‍♂️ Then at least we'll have 2 options.

I highly doubt that these other apps will ever support the free, sovereign protocol that's built in to the lightning spec that requires no KYC, is difficult to track and censor. (keysend)

Liberty has never been a priority for any of them. Yet from my reading it would appear that liberty was a major priority of Satoshi et al.

You'd have to trust a third party to actually process the splits... doesnt sound like a bitcoiner solution

It also sounds like a "money transmitter" situation and could get you in trouble with the powers that ought not be.

Direct splits in the feed is the way. Payments paid by the listener directly to the artist's splits, wallet to wallet is truly what decentralized means.

No 3rd parties needed, this can be done with your own node. It's permissionless and beautiful.
