I'm not so sure about their incompetence, there are loads of examples of mismanagement in this or that agency, council, or commitee but that's common in every (excessively) large organisation, be it a government, church, or private enterprise, without trying to excuse that sorry state of affairs of course.

No but the big things, the general direction a country's government is taking, that somehow stays constant for decades across multiple, allegedly rivalling administrations, and that always seems to align with the interests of those who donate the most money to political campaigns, be they blue, red, pink, orange or purple, that is where skillful manipulation, subterfuge, extortion, and plain power politics come into play. Some bored temp at the DMV might be stupid but the people running things are plain evil and don't care in the slightest about your precious rights and your so-called democracy.

To your point about the proverbial money printer, it's true they have that but the problems that an ever-increasing number of people seem to be noticing didn't occur due to a lack of money creation but precisely because they became increasingly uninhibited in its use.

The numbers don't make sense to people anymore, in the time it took for what's considered to be a "high salary" to go from medium 5 digits to medium 6 digits, government expenditure, debt, and deficits have gone from 8 digits to14 (as in, say, $37 trillion of debt).

And I'm glad these developments are being discussed by more and more "normies", everybody should know what inflation really is and how central banking is ruining everyone but those positioned to take advantage of it.
