SourceHut is nice

I installed some software from there, but haven't used it with my repos. Gotta say it looks a bit basic on the first impression 😬

it does look minimal, but it's fast.. ..plus it's one of the only one's with no tracking or advertising and it works without JavaScript.. ..and it's not proprietary/closed-source like GitHub

If I ever get to buying that thin client and setting up that proxmox machine I want to try Gitea.

All that's been on my list for a while though 😅

if i had better internet service i would self-host my repos.. ..that would be awesome.. ..cgit looks legit too..

Hmm, I never had speed problems on GitHub tbh. When it is up 😂 but also my day job relies on it, everything is done there. One other reason to use GH I suppose..

i feel your pain.. ..i have to use Adobe software and a Windows PC for my occupation 😬

Feel you too. I switched from Mac to Linux and now have a windows VM for Photoshop 😅 learning about alternatives at the moment though. Fuck Adobe 😂

And then, unfortunately, there is network effect. Nobody will find your stuff elsewhere. I think. Would love to be proved wrong though
