Iβd publish on-chain, using https://book.io, and then use socials and website to gain traction.
One of the advantages of this is that you can send copies of your book to people, without risking the copying of pdfs or epub files
I've written some posts about my husband's and my books on Nostr. We also have them written about in our bio's.
I got one sale on one of my books because I liked someone's post so they saw my bio and bought one. I recently sold one of my husbands books by writing a post about it on Nostr.
We're not very good at marketing though π
My husband tried Fb ads for one of his books and it did lead to sales, but they charged more than we earned so we stopped. He did get more reviews for it though, and then he did food delivery with UberEats and it seemed those customers read his reason that included a link to his books, and they bought books! But something seems to have changed a few months ago and I'm not sure people see that note anymore.
Our main strategy is to just keep writing books and posting about them and then if people find us they have plenty of options and might end up buying multiple different books of ours. π
Thanks, Ann π
I reckon you need some platform (not expensive Facebook ads) to gain mass awareness of your work as a writer - just make the general public aware that youβre writing. Then engage some of the folks through a more personal, probably owned media channel. Finally, make the sale
