-> Ducks forage in a way that you can run them through your garden space,

Reducing slug, snail, & overall bug pressure.

I'm about to run my ducks after I trellis tomatoes, but I'd never run my chickens.

-> You can also use the duck water & manure quicker than chicken manure which requires a longer composting period.

-> The eggs are way bigger / more nutritious

-> Ducks keep themselves cleaner due to being in the water, which also means less chance of ticks when you pick em up.

-> Ducks don't need as high of a fence, meanwhile chickens are likely to escape without a high fence.

-> Duck meat > Chicken meat

-> Roosters are very noisy, ducks are chill AF.

Ok following... mostly, don't ducks fly tho on the high fence thing.. Forgive my ignorance. How often do they lay?

Depends on the breed, some ducks legit fly, but Ancona Ducks barely get off the ground & they're scared af in their temperament.

Ancona is supposed to be ~220 eggs per year avg.

I'm thinking about adding Khaki Campbell who supposedly can lay 300+.

Ancona is a heritage breed duck in the US though, so that's my focus.

Ive tried duck eggs once when i still used to eat eggs couldn’t deal with consistency or taste.

Chickens arent the brightest. I used to live on a farm for a while and they would pick at stones instead of worms.

Stones have bugs on em usually, hence the picking.

& Chickens are pretty smart, do some research on em.

Duck eggs are incredible, if you don't like them it's because you don't know how to cook 🫢.

...or you don't like eggs at all.

Wow you dont have even know who you just insulted about their cooking.

I did lots of research on chickens yrs ago their behaviour didnt get brighter though.. and where they were picking there were no bugs on the stones.

The u seems more like an i when it comes to ducks or more then that. Maybe not sure.. guess my personality’s spotty or just sarcasm. Its like a back and forth of bananas.. can never be sure what the actual meaning is.
