What if pizza was never invented. Like noone ever thought about doing that. This keeps me up at night.

There would be a proliferation of meatball sub style sandwiches, including pineapple+ham+cheese+tomato sauce sandwiches.

Kind of like marsupials in Australia: the existing solution evolves to fill the niche.

Yah! The chef slammed his spatula down on his meatballs while angry cooking, which made the first burger patty. He then took this party and placed it in a small bun, creating the first slider, people ate it and liked it.
