I finally tried CashApp to buy Bitcoin. Yes it’s KYC, but after buying, I immediately sent it to my wallet over lightning. Sorry Swan, love what you’re doing, but I found a better way. Going to try RoboSats soon.

For anyone who receives a direct deposit, they don’t even charge a fee. I’ve switched to them completely.
I’ll look into that. The fee was not bad at all. Swan makes you wait 10 days and you have to send on-chain. I wanted to support a Bitcoin only exchange, but that’s too much. CashApp is great.
I’m not knocking Swan, they were great for the last couple of years. I just want to simplify my DCA and Cash App is crushing it.
💯 love everything Swan is doing, but CashApp doesn’t have shitcoins and that’s good enough for me.
Can you use Strike? Similarly great and better fees for buying.
I tried to use Strike, but they sent me a message and said I can’t use them. I wrote their customer service, and they basically said “sorry, you won’t be able to use Strike”. Idk what happened.
Are you US?
Yes
They exclude Hawaii, New York and South Dakota.
Oh I don’t live there. I’m not sure what the problem was
If so inclined send them a message, they acted fast in the past when I’ve done this.
If not, their loss, should make a product that doesn’t do this unexplained. 🤷🏻♂️

I sent them a message. They just said I wouldn’t be able to use Strike. I heard on Twitter this was an issue. It’s okay though. I’m happy with CashApp now
I use Cashapp with direct deposit. No fees. Also you can receive lightning on Cashapp
No fees in buying BTC? Does that mean it gets auto converted when you get paid? Wanna understand this. Many of my nocoiner friends have Cashapp.
Yes, the day direct deposit hits, you can decide the % that gets converted to btc. No fees fro direct deposit conversion.
Cashapp is like Muun wallet, but custodial, and with the ability to buy btc directly from the app.
Orange pilled a couple co-workers and then this happened to them. I like Strike but they need to be able to explain when this happens to someone.
Instead of charging you a fee, they get compensated for snitiching on you for every move.
It's a huge mistake buying bitcoin through KYC no matter how convenient it is.
I was thinking it would be cool to have a sat swap day
Everyone zaps each other various amounts anonymously, and then we zap each other back the same amount
Might be a good way to muddle things up and fuck with the government
Yep, been doing that for months now 🤙
Last time I looked, for convenience at the expense of KYC, the fees on Cashapp are pretty high compared to Swan. Was more than double for a purchase of $100 worth. Unless you're doing sizeable buys and can get to under 1%
The fees weren’t bad. Bought $30 and they charged 67 cents. I’ll pay a premium to get my Bitcoin immediately, and I’ll pay a bigger premium for non-KYC.
You can send cash app BTC straight to WoS or a lightning wallet?
Yes I copied my lightning address, pasted it into CashApp, and got the sats in a few seconds

Wrote an article on just this. Robosats is excellent. Learn it. As is CashApp but expect banks to start putting up barriers on how you can engage with CashApp…
Cash app is an excellent on ramp for newbies / ease of use and fast exit to self custody. But banks can decide to block you from accessing CashApp service across the board if they associate it with “bitcoin & cryptocurrency”
This has happened to me and others. There are appear to be some ways around this if you’re savvy with CX flows but the best way is just knowing how to use tools like Robosats. Don’t wait till the chips are down to pick up this knowledge. 😁
CashApp is 🔥
As you can see, I bought extra before the dip 😂😂 Still cheap sats though

Honestly I love so much about Swan but their prices are always a bit disappointing. I tend to end up paying a premium over what I’d be paying on Shitcoinbase plus a fee that’s about double. No “sell” button on swan is a nice feature, though.
