Need help guys! 🆘
Been away from home for a week now and my data usage is skyrocketing because of #Amethyst.
If it keeps going like that I won't have any data left by Tuesday... 😓
Where does that come from? Is it client side (#Amethyst) or does have something to do with #Nostr, at the protocol level?
And more importantly, is there something I can do to mitigate the problem? 🙏🙏🙏

Many factors play into it. Number of relays, how much data you pull (accounts followed), images, video, usage of the app. 🐶🐾🫡🫂

12 relays. I fully even know why I keep most of them actually, I guess I could keep wine and wine filter only...

It will help for sure, but images/video loading is also expensive. If there’s a way to turn off auto loading for media that should also help significantly.

I would keep all paid relays. If you have to keep open ones, evaluate which ones your friends notes are on. If there is a common one, readd it.
Every relay you add adds duplication of many notes. Removing even one is good for data.
It’s possible, but more likely something isn’t working correctly. Can you isolate just the filter relay in global and make sure it loads events?
In addition, you do need to add ?broadcast=true to your filter URL otherwise you won’t be sending your messages out to other relays.

There definitely is stiffening off right now. I can see on nostr.band that some messages aren't sent. Hopefully this will fix it. 🤞

I tried various but nothing worked and now it got me annoyed. 😤
