Do you look at the cows?
You probably don't have as many near you as I do.
There are more cows than people in Oklahoma.
I see them cramped together in long trailers every day.
Today I looked them in the eyes and I felt their confusion.
I wept, because I too am confused.
They wait in line to die, the same way I wait at the traffic light on my way to work alongside them.
Neither party is free.
Would it be wrong to end their life?
I could swerve in front of the driver and cause an accident.
Would that be less humane than slitting their throat?
Would I be causing fellow humans to go hungry?
Why is only some death justified?
Would I be missed?
I hope they have a better day at work than I do.
I'll miss the cows.
