Made potato-carrot cream soup for today's lunch. A light meal since we are going to a birthday party in the afternoon, where there will be plenty of options for fattening snacks. While making bread croutons and simultaneously frying tiny bacon strips for garnish and seasoning, I was thinking about the strange cooking situation in our household.

See, most of our peers have traditional arrangements, where girls cook and boys do whatever we do. Having to brush off our cooking arrangement makes her a little uncomfortable, since she is not feeling too confident in the kitchen (thanks to my mother-in-law's not-so-great upbringing...). It's a little uncomfortable for me, since I can't really reveal why I don't mind.

I just obey my mind that forces me to see her as someone to adore and take care of.

I would love to say to the grousing, "bitch, you would suck a dog's cock if your brain pumped dopamine for that," but that would probably lead to more questions, so usually I regress to "Well, I like cooking."

However, I'm not sure if I'm not deceiving myself, given how often we have other #flr elements in our relationship.

All I can do is hope that at least the children will see it as an expression of love and not as my projection that She should be worshipped as a goddess.
